Our history, a long tradition

The history of the Haus Vier Jahreszeiten in Wiesbaden goes back to the 19th century.

The "Hotel und Kurhaus Vier Jahreszeiten" was built by the famous town planner and architect Christian Zais in 1818. At that time there was nothing comparable in Wiesbaden. The house was large, elegantly built and furnished and had an unprecedented standard of luxury. Great personalities of the highest stayed in the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten. From the Austrian Empress "Sissi" to the Tsar of Russia to German Emperor Wilhelm I.With the construction of the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten and the completely new city design for Wiesbaden, Christian Zais was establishing Wiesbaden as a spa city with an international reputation.

Unfortunately, many of his buildings were severely damaged or completely destroyed during the Second World War. In the “bombing night” February 2, 1945, the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten was unfortunately also irretrievably destroyed. However, after the war, a new visionary should let his plans become reality at the place of the former Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten. Dr. Rudolf Herrmann had the unique idea to build an apartment house directly in the city centre in the Hessian state capital. The guests should live in luxuriously furnished apartments, in their "own four walls" but like in a hotel. This concept, which had previously been almost unknown in Germany, was a complete success. Television and major magazines reported throughout Germany on the new “Vier Jahreszeiten” luxury Boardinghouse in Wiesbaden

In a long tradition, the apartment house Vier Jahreszeiten is still family-owned today. Of course, it has been modernised and extended again and again, so that it can still offer a unique range of furnished, luxurious apartments in the best location in Wiesbaden.

We look forward to your visit in Wiesbaden.
